Apple Butter Day + HHC Turning THREE

Happy Holler Circle is turning THREE in October!

To celebrate, you're invited to the Carpenter family tradition of apple butter making. If you've never had apple butter, it is a southern Appalachian thing. It's delicious. Despite the name it has nothing to do with butter but a whole lot to do with apples and sugar.

A few years ago, my husband and I were given his grandmother's brass kettle, and we decided it would be fun to continue her tradition of making apple butter every fall. We invite our neighbors, friends, families, basically everyone we know, and we would love for you to join us, too! Apple butter making is an all day process, and we invite you to stop by and help out with whatever stage is occurring. First thing in the morning, that's peeling and slicing the apples.
