About the event
Happy Holler Circle is turning TWO in October!
To celebrate, you're invited to the Carpenter family tradition of applebutter making. If you've never had applebutter, it is a southern Appalachian thing. Communities gather, peel and slice pounds and pounds of apples (we do 4 bushels!), and cook them in a large kettle over a fire. At the end we will have delicious applebutter to share with you all when classes resume.
The actual making of the applebutter takes all day, from peeling and slicing the apples, to cooking them, to canning! Happy Holler Circle is invited to the first half of that process from 8-12. If you are coming in the first hour or so and happen to have an extra apple peeler or good knife, please bring it! We are usually a little short on supplies for all of the helping hands.
*Note on address: It is on the board in class. Please take a picture of it!
I will do my best to keep an eye on my phone the day of, but it's a very busy morning here, so I suggest reaching out beforehand for a timely response.
